Student Activities & Greek Affairs

Fraternities and sororities have been a part of Loyola University Chicago since 1924. Traditionally, they have challenged students to achieve even greater heights intellectually, personally and socially. Over the years, the fraternity and sorority community at Loyola has grown, creating a variety of options for sorority/fraternity life. The undergraduate members at Loyola pride themselves on the individual personality and nature of each fraternity and sorority on campus. The fraternity and sorority community offers a rich and rewarding experience for their members. In addition, sororities and fraternities have contributed substantially to campus life, community service, and the transformative mission of the University.

The strength and attractiveness of sororities and fraternities lie in their ability to develop innovative approaches and to maintain effective programs that maximize the character of the chapters and the community within the overall framework of the University. Although each sorority or fraternity sponsors its own functions and possesses its own identity, all have many things in common. They all seek to foster our community values:

The Loyola Greek community GPA is consistently above the all undergraduate GPA.

Loyola sorority and fraternity members provided more than 7000 hours of community service in the last year.

There are multiple leadership opportunities at the chapter and council level for members.

8% of the undergradaute population is part of the Loyola Greek community and it's still growing
